September/October 2010 – Having Fun with Prints & Patterns
Houndstooth. Damask. Gingham. Plaid. Paisley. Polka dot. Argyle. Animal print. Checks. Whether you fancy these or a myriad of other hot-ticket prints and patterns, we’d love to see prints and patterns used in super creative ways. How about a purse-shaped card done up in animal print? Or a shoe-shaped card honed in hounds tooth? You could make a back-to-school card with a little girl who’s sporting a pleated plaid skirt. Or what about putting a gingham lamp shade, a polka dot cloud, or a paisley poodle on a gift bag? Ooo-or what about some damask wallpaper in the background that sets the stage for some spooky Halloween scene? Create these or other imaginative projects of all types and varieties including cards, gift bags, tags, mini-albums, home decor, and more. We’d love to see Halloween projects as well as projects for birthday, thank you, encouragement, get well soon, friendship, etc. that feature your fashionable spin. September/October 2010 – Words & Lines
One of the hottest trends out there right now is using newsprint, old books, ledger lines, journaling cards, graph paper, and background text on paper crafted projects. We’d love to see your creative uses of these inspiring products on projects of all types and varieties (cards, gift bags, tags, mini-albums, home décor, gifts, etc.) that span all occasions suitable to a fall issue. September/October 2010 – Color Play
It’s your first chance to play! Our new column for 2010, Color Play, is ready for your input! Create cards, gift bags, tags, mini-album covers, treat containers, etc. that utilize just these 4 colors. If you need to add touches of black or white, that is perfectly acceptable, but these four colors should be the stars of the show. We’re looking for Halloween and back-to-school projects as well as projects for other occasions such as birthday, thank you, hello, friendship, sympathy, get well soon, encouragement, congratulations, etc. Stick as closely as possible to these Bazzill equivalents: • Classic Blue – a dark cobalt – not navy, though • Grape Slush • Yukon Gold • Stonehenge DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: MONDAY, March 15, 2010, at midnight MST Click on this link to see the color combination: September/October 2010 Color Combination

Inspired By
Ever browse through a Paper Crafts magazine or special issue and created a card or project inspired by one of the designs you saw in the publication? We want to hear your story and see your creation! Maybe you took the design of a birthday card and made it into a Valentine, or maybe you switched up the colors to take a Mother’s Day card to a Father’s Day card. Submit an image of your Inspired By project, tell us where we can find the original in our magazine, and you just might have your card featured in the Paper Crafts Connection section of one of our issues!
