Wedding Wishes {post-Royal Wedding joy}

Good Morning!

How many of you watching Prince William marry Kate Middleton!!!? I DID! In fact, I took 2 naps and had a pot of coffee going all of Thursday to keep me going through the wee hours of Friday morning…THIS morning! LOL! The music, the cathedral, the gown, the joy…everything was divine! This is the stuff fairy tales are made of!

So, in the spirit of wedded bliss and of dreams coming true, here’s a classy chic wedding card for you! I simply pulled up my Cityscape Dingbat font from dafont.com in PSE9, layered the images, formed a grey gradient, printed it off, added the stamped sentiment and the frou-frou stuff, and voila!

Materials: Lawn Fawn Stamps (Sophie’s Sentiments), Cityscape Dingbat font (dafont.com), antique seam binding, Tim Holtz button, Darice pin, Stampendous white embossing powder, Versamark Ink, Prima Pearls, Neenah cardstock

Congratulations and Best Wishes to The Duke of Cambridge and his stunning new-bride, The Duchess of Cambridge!

Thanks for dropping by!

Quick & Cute Thank You Notes

Hello again!

Are you in need of a quick thank you note? I saw this idea two years ago on someone’s blog and then again this year on Amy Heller’s blog on Valentine’s Day! Amy chose to take more close-up shots of her children versus my way of having more background in the shot!

All I did was add some white text, cut two slits around CJ’s hands with an Xacto knife, and then adhere the photo to a white cardstock base of the same size. Then you just slip in the lollipop!

Here’s the original photo:

I used CK’s Chloe font and Pea Panda’s Doodles for the text, cropped up the photo a bit, and enhanced in PSE9!

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone!!!

Does everyone have their DVRs set to record the Royal Wedding? I admit, I’ve been caught up in the hype and can’t wait to see the big day! I can’t believe that in this world of high gas prices, natural disasters, and the spread of democracy that things like this still happen… It seems so unreal, doesn’t it? So, I’m going to enjoy the incessant coverage of something as superfluous as the Royal Wedding 😉 LOL!

Here are some link that iheart big time:

Ahoy Matey!

Hello there!

Please excuse the 3-day blog sabbatical! Have you seen all the submission calls out there? They are BACK-TO-BACK I tell ya!

Here’s a small list of some of them:

Northridge Media calls (Cards, Create, Scrapbook Trends, etc.-mostly due May 1st and 5th)

Paper Crafts Magazine November/December 2011

Paper Crafts Magazine A Card  A Day

So, here’s my card for today! I just love the new Basic Grey Lauderdale 6×6 papers! They remind me of somewhere warmer and sunnier than WA state…lol! They remind me of home in good ‘ole FL! I paired the papers with a printed sentiment, a cool Impress stamp, and some fun stitching!

Here’s a close-up:

I used my Art Grip Aquarelle watercolor pencils to color in the little details! I love the imperfectness of the watercoloring!

Materials: Impress Sailboat Combo Stamp, Basic Grey Lauderdale Papers, Faber-Castell Art Grip Aquarelle watercolor pencils (Reds, blues), Staz-on Ink (jet black), Neenah Cardstock (solar white), green DMC Floss, printed sentiment (print clearly dashed font)

Thanks for dropping by!

Sketchy Sunday {TG017}

Happy Easter! Here’s this week’s sketch!

How have your weekends been? Yesterday, we went to Pike’s Place Market for the first time! I was overwhelmed by everything- the colors, the people, street performers, musicians, flowers, produce, CLEAR blue skies with no clouds in sight, the smells, EVERYTHING! I was so overwhelmed I got teary eyed. It was like my senses were dull from so many grey dreary days here in the PNW. Yesterday, was the first continuously sunny day since I’ve been here! I was truly inspired by this photo for my card this week:

Just so you know, I will be choosing my favorites at the end of April to be highlighted! AND, I will randomly choose one participant to win a gift certificate to one of our favorite crafty stores! Other than that, feel free to link up your creations any time because there are no deadlines!

If you play along, use the sketch however you see fit~It’s okay to make changes! Also, please use keyword TG017 if you upload to an online gallery. Please link to me if you use the sketch~I comment on all the cards!

My card:

This card is in its 4th and final stage 😉 I had TOO many ideas for the new Sweet Threads Spirals background stamp that I couldn’t come up with a focused card. That ever happen to you? Well, I spent hours hand-stitching the first version, but then the card was too much for me. So I trimmed up the hand sewn part, but the colors were all wrong. And it goes on and on! You get the drift 😉

Materials: Basic Grey Stamps (Sweet Threads Spirals, Sweet Threads Labels, Stitched Frame, Envelope Pattern), Neenah and PTI cardstock, Memento Inks (lulu lavender, pear tart, new sprout, rose bud), Pink Dotted Washi Tape, Pink/white divine twine

I hope you’re inspired!
