Monday was one of those days….you know one of those days. I was nauseas morning until evening and the poor boys had more energy than I could muster! So, I laid out some old costumes and funny hats and they played dress-up, aka “superheroes”, all day while lounged around. I’m hoping today will be different (crosses fingers).
Anyways, here’s another Doodlebug Card (FYI, not submitting for their DT call, but the call ends tonight), but this time I made a puppy lovers’ card! I wanted to challenge myself by using stickers. I’m usually anti-sticker, but I couldn’t resist that blue puppy! The wordfind background was created by cutting the alphabet rub-on sheet into individual rows of letters and then laying them down one by one to form “ruf”. I thought it would be cute to add in brown stickers on the inside, “having a ruf day?”
I used the Doodlebug Essentials Bow Wow kit to embellish my card and the card itself is a Baroque Create-a-Card. The kit is on clearance for $3.99 and you can’t beat that. I love that I can use it for general boy pages and the square cards are on clearance too, $7.73 for 9 cards/envies of different colors. I like how their tri-fold window cards
Good Morning! How was your weekend? We did absolutely nothing but cook some good meals! Last weekend was nuts, so this weekend we were completely lazy…4 hour naps, yummy meals, movies, games- the life!
I’m officially in love with sequins & these little ghosts from Lawn Fawn’s Happy Haunting stamp set For today’s card, I used a square Doodlebug Create-a-card in black and some matching round Halloween sequins. The “boo!” sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Heebie Jeebie’s stamp set.
Do you have any plans for this upcoming weekend? We have back-to-school shopping, a BBQ by the lake, and some packing planned for the weekend. Hubby will be gone for about 2 months for some field training with his new unit. It may or may not be a blessing in disguise as my preggo hormones continue to rise, lol!
I was so excited when I saw the Margarita papers from American Crafts in my LSS because the pictures from Liam’s Zoo Birthday Party match PERFECTLY with them! So, here’s the layout Please excuse the carpet and cutting mat edges peeking through…I couldn’t get a straight shot above the layout without falling over! LOL! I used the Details tags that match the papers, Lawn Fawn’s Say Cheese Too stamp set, a Hambly Cameras Overlay, some Smash Fabric Tags, and an Amy Tangerine sticker.
My husband let them have some sort of blue powdered candy before our outing, hence the VERY blue faces, lol! If you look real closely at the 2nd picture from the left on top, you’ll catch a peek of something CJ does non-stop- must be a boy thing On Liam’s special day, we were joined by a sweet family, The Caristis, so you’ll spy a few peeks of the kid that’s not mine…hahahaha. That’s Luca!
Liam’s smile is contagious! Love this little man…
I hid the journaling in a pocket behind the photo section on the 2nd page. You can pull it out of the pocket using the stamped fabric tag!
I hope everyone has a happy hump day I know I plan on it!
Thanks for looking,

Today is the last day of the inspiration week and we’re featuring Turkey Day! It’s a mini stamp set that packs a whole lotta punch I used the Martha Stewart pumpkin favor bags, added a stamped, pieced, and copic-colored turkey, and added a mini tag! Of course, they’re filled with candy corn- my boys’ (all 3 of them) favorite!
So, here’s a question for you…
I used to hate candy corn…that is until I tried my favorites! My favorites are the mini pumpkins and the caramel apples…All.Day.Long! YUMMERS!
For all you haters, I leave you with this….
Thanks for dropping by,
Materials: Martha Stewart Favor Bags, Lawn Fawn Stamps (Turkey Day), Neenah Cardstock, Memento Ink, Copic Markers, Versamark Ink, Zing! Embossing Powder, Slice (Basic Elements Card-Tag), My Mind’s Eye Patterned Paper, Zip Dry
Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is featuring flash-back projects of Harvest Season & Heebie Jeebie’s! The Halloween Tags above are from last year, but today I have an easy treat bag project for you! The favor bag I featured using Happy Haunting requires quite a bit of steps, so I thought I’d go with something easy to mass produce:
I used the Nesting Flower Die from Lifestyle Crafts to die-cut my stamped spiderwebs! I love the wonky circle shapes in this die set and it was a PERFECT fit for those Heebie Jeebie’s Webs! Then, you simply stamp the hanging spiders in Staz-on ink onto the medium glassine bags and that’s that for stamping! And, you have an EASY PEASY 5-step treat bag that’s easy to mass produce
Welcome to day 2 of the Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week! This time the Design Team is featuring Many Thanks. I created an embroidery hoop thank you gift with a matching mini card! I used Claudine Hellmuth Sticky-back canvas to stamp the heart and the thank you word bubble. Then I hand stitched the heart to the Amy Tangerine Fabric Paper! I added the thank you word bubble to the center of the Amy Tangerine frame embellishment on the mini card and stitched along the border. This gift came together relatively easy! There are all sorts of inks that work on canvas: hybrid, dye inks, archival, and even the Stamper’s Big Brush Markers from Faber-Castell!
Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn Blog and the rest of the Design Team!
In other news, I’ll be hosting a live demo today at 11 am PST for OhMyCrafts and Design Memory Craft! If you’re interested in how to use the Design Memory Craft line of products from Faber-Castell, be sure to tune in HERE at 11 am PST!
I used Lifestyle Crafts Dies (mini paper bag, nesting circles) to create my little treat bags! For the circle detail, I stamped the circle in black, and then flipped the stamp over to use the base image in order to stamp the circle in color!
The little house was stamped and then masked before stamping the fence! I keep all my post-it masks stuck to the stamp set for reuse.
I used American Crafts’ Nightfall papers and sticker embellishments!
Hope you enjoyed looking
Materials: Lawn Fawn (Happy Haunting), Lifestyle Crafts Dies (mini paper bag, nesting circles), American Crafts Collection (Nightfall), Impress Paper Straws, Staz-on Ink, Distress Ink (soot), CTMH Ink (twilight, honey, terracotta), Helmar Adhesives (foam tape), Glue Dots, Scor-tape
Here’s another simple card I made using a new overlay from Hambly Studios, Mini Brocade. I love this shade of red that Hambly and American Crafts has been using! It’s a scarlet- very bright on the verge of almost being orange! To create the panel, I used my craft knife to cut an 1 1/4″ wide panel from the card base. Then, I adhered the panel with some scor-tape on the inside, masked the panel, and stamped the hearts background! The ink is my favorite pigment ink, Fresh Ink from Impress, yummy!
On a side note, I FINALLY used my tripod to photograph in manual mode I needed it so that the pictures wouldn’t come out blurry. I shoot indoors in poor lighting, so I set my camera on a slower shutter speed to allow more exposure. The tripod is JUST what I needed & I’ve had it for years, lol!
I am officially 16 weeks preggers and it ain’t pretty! Heartburn GALORE! My skin is WHACK! Temper a’soarin’!
I had the idea for my card all week ever since I got some of the new Hambly Screen Prints designs in the mail last weekend I am in LOVE with the lattice overlays/papers! I wanted to keep the card nice and simple. I love yellow, especially this shade of yellow…sigh*
So, you can check out the new Hambly Screen Prints stuff here. Get it while it’s hot because it’s limited edition stuff I know I’ll be ordering more lattice, cameras, and holiday papers!
I hope everyone is having a decent week! I’ve seen tons of back-to-school posts and they’re making me sad in anticipation for CJ’s first day of Kindergarten in September! They start school pretty late here in WA.
I don’t know about you, but I love nerds I mean iheart nerds BIG TIME! Every dude in my family is a nerd in some form or another according to their vices- be it books, video games, computers, technology, programming. But, even though they’re nerds, they are still some of the coolest dudes I know! My brother is completing Army AIT training for Signal, which (in civilian lingo) means training in computer programming. He’s an ultra nerd and actually wears glasses just like the ones on the card! So, this is for him I think I’ll include a giftcard inside to the Apple store. I was inspired to make a guy card by Kelly’s post here!
To stamp on the cork background, I highly recommend a quick drying ink. I used CTMH dye ink and dealt with inky figures throughout the whole project! I used Hero Arts Formula Fun and Lawn Fawn sets Quinn’s ABCs, Smitty’s ABCs, and Clear to See.
