‘Tis the season….for weddings!!!
If you’re a regular DIYer, I’m certain you’ve been hit up this season to design some invitations of some sort. Be it wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc.! For these modern and playful DIY wedding invitations with matching magnetic save the dates, I was inspired by all things summer: water, bright hues, playfulness, & fun!
To begin:

I used the following fonts: Carpe Diem, Learning Curve, & Print Clearly. I printed these 4×6 invitations on Strathmore watercolor paper, cold press. Then I used my Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blue/Green Art Grip Aquarelle watercolor pencils to fill in the letters in an hombre pattern. Then, I framed the sides with color as well!

Taking a waterbrush or paintbrush, begin to blend the pigment from the pencils. The color is permanent once it’s dry, so work quickly! I love the little mistakes as they add to the watercolor effect of the invitation!
Repeat the process with your save the dates (3″ x 2″) and adhere them to some sticky-back magnetic sheets! Of course, don’t forget to add little strips of your favorite washi tapes for an added artsy feel
Hope you enjoyed this fun & easy tutorial,
