Dreams Take Flight

Dreams Take Flight…

This card means a lot to me!
I feel like everything is coming full circle for me.
When I first moved to the desert, I felt so lonely and COMPLETELY out of place…
I was a new mom, without my husband most of the time, had very little friends and didn’t have many hobbies.
My friend introduced me to stamping!!!!
Which led to scrapbooking,
which led to cardmaking,
which led back to stamping :)
Since 2006, I have made many friends and have made strides in my stamping.
I feel like dreams really DO come true as cheesy as that sounds!
This card uses the dearly beloved Fairytale Limited Edition kit from
Odd Bird Planet!

I’m an Odd Bird!!!!!!!

My 4-year Wedding Anniversary!!!

YESTERDAY
marked the day of
mine and my husband’s 4-year Wedding Anniversary!!!
I can’t believe it’s been 4 years…
When I first met Chris I thought he was
the most handsome,
most intelligent,
most thoughtful,
hopeless romantic yet!
He is away for 2 1/2 weeks, but last night we celebrated
with a post-election celebratory bottle of wine,
white lasagna made by me :) ,
and a quiet movie…
I’m having my very first EVAH Passion Party tonight to celebrate as well ;)

Here is a card that I HAD TO MAKE!!!
I just received some goodies in the mail from Odd Bird Planet
and had to play with that new box of transparencies!
Turns out, I ordered the wrong kind of transparencies…lol!

Materials List:
Stamps- ODB: 671H Isn’t She Lovely (jj mix), 650ODotty Border, 1708E Kelly’s Gnome Girl with Apron, 029AA Flower Power
Paper- Basic Grey dsp, Highland 904 Transparencies
Ink- CTMH archival black, staz-on, copics, gelly roll pens
Accessories- LOTS of stamp-a-ma-jig usage
Techniques- Coloring with alcohol markers, masking

Combat Boot Challenge!!!

Marie the voice of, From Combat Boots to Rubberstamps,
has decided to provide the stamping world with another challenge!!!
Marie is one of the sweetest blogging friends I have! She always makes a point to respond personally to every comment you leave! She’s a sweetie :)
Here is this week’s Inspiration:
And here is my card for CBC01:
I was instantly drawn to the earthy colors and the little topiary plants on the steps. And, the design element that made my heart skip a beat were the pleats on the couch cover!!! My friend, Eve, makes beautifully pleated purses and I HEART anything pleated (except for my pants)!
The earth topiary stamp is from Odd Bird Planet. It was the reason why I even started looking at Odd Bird Planet Stamps!
