Memorial Day: Honor the Fallen

909801

This Memorial Day how will you honor the fallen?

As an Army Wife and Army Brat, Memorial Day means honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. This year, I’ve decided to pledge 3 miles of running to Wear Blue: Run To Remember, a grassroots organization with 3 goals.

- Act as a support network.

- Create a living memorial.

-And bridge the gap between the military and the community.

This organization does SO much more and is led by founder, Lisa Hallett, whose husband CPT John Hallett died fighting for our country in 2009. She and so many others honor their loved ones every Saturday by running. You can see them everywhere here in Tacoma with their Blue Shirts, iPods, and steely looks of determination. This Saturday’s run is especially important as we celebrate Memorial Day 2013. Just over 3,000 miles have been pledged! Last year, 18,000 miles were pledged!

I highly encourage you to click on the graphic above to see if you have a local chapter in your area. If not, you can still pledge miles and join me and so many others in honoring the fallen…

In love,

The Stamps of Life: Talk Bubbles & Phones!

_MG_8053

Morning Blogosphere!

Do you remember party lines? One person would call you, you’d call another person, then that person would call another person, so and so forth until there were like 5 giggling girls interrupting each other on the phone!? LOL! Sigh* Now, we text. That’s what this first card is all about, the party line! I used The Stamps of Life Phone4You Stamp Set!

More cards:

_MG_8056

This 2nd card reminds me so much of vintage 70s! I adore it :) I used Phones2Decorate & Phone4You. I used a Sizzix Circle Framelit to help me evenly die-cut the phone’s dial!

_MG_8057This card was so much fun to make! I love keeping things simple, but my oh my was it hard to NOT get ink everywhere ;) I used the new Talk4Phone stamp set!

For all 3 cards, I used my favorite ink colors from the Colorbox for Stephanie Barnard line: Banana, Tangerine, Guava, Strawberry, Raspberry. AND, for all the dimension in the first two cards I utilized my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares in White!

Have a good day,

Happy Mother’s Day: Creativity for Kids Collaboration

_MG_8171
Hello Blogosphere! It’s Tiffany here with a fun project using the Creativity for Kids Make Your Own Enchanted Story Book Kit! Follow along and you’ll learn some easy ways to incorporate supplies you have on hand and Design Memory Craft products while still making it easy & fun for your kiddos!

Before you get started I highly recommend gathering up the following supplies:

_MG_8172

  1. Use the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft PITT Artist Pen (S) in black to tell your story! These are archival and light-fast.
  2. Then, have your child help you stamp various images to illustrate the story using the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen in Black.
  3. The kids LOVE using the included stickers to enhance the story!

_MG_8152

  1. Your children can use your Papercrafter’s Crayons to color and illustrate! These are unbreakable twist-up crayons, so they’re very easy to use.

_MG_8176

  1. For the littles, pre-toddlers & toddlers, you can create a palette of using various Stamper’s Big Brush Pens and a large stamp block. Just dip their little fingers in the ink and create shapes into the book! I made a flower using my daughter’s little thumb!

_MG_8179

  1. The markers that are included in the kit are PERFECTLY sized for your pre-toddlers and toddlers! Here’s Lilli adding the finishing touches (aka scribbles) to our book.

_MG_8156

  1. To personalize the photo, just use a post-it to trace the inside, cut it out, and use it as a cutting guide on a small 2″ x 2″ photo!

Here is our completed book in a slideshow:

My kids are 7, 5, and 15 months and I had so much fun involving each of them in making this wonderful keepsake! I was going to send it to their great-grandma, but I don’t know…I think I’ll keep it for myself!

Happy Crafting,

TiffJohnsonSignature

The Stamps of Life: Phone4You

_MG_8048Good Morning Blogosphere!

How goes it? Do you have exciting plans for this Mother’s Day Weekend or are you more like us and have set plans to relax? I plan on going to brunch at a friend’s house tomorrow morning (in PJS, of course) and then crafting my little heart out the rest of the day :)

Here’s a card I created using The Stamps of Life new club set, Phone4You! It’s such a fun set with this awesome retro telephone! I also used the Colorbox Inks for Stephanie Barnard in Licorice and Sky! You should check out all the amazingness in the gallery!

I’m sure Stephanie will think of a stamp set involving text messages because these days all we do is “text” a friend! LOL!

Thanks so much for joining me this morning! Enjoy your weekend!
