Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Belinda’s Borders

Hello everyone!!!

The design team is featuring their Belinda’s Borders projects today on the Lawn Fawn Blog! Be sure to check out the giveaway!

I recently came back from a trip to Portland, OR and I was definitely inspired by the unique culture that makes Portland, well Portland! The first 2 days were spent getting ready for my workshop for Faber-Castell’s Design Memory Craft. I met store owners and designers from all over the USA! It was awesome! After the all day conference, my friend Alina and I with all 5 of our kids hit up Voodoo Doughnuts. You must try the bacon doughnut. It’s like breakfast pancake and bacon heaven! Oh so light and fluffy! Then we went to Alexis Greek for dinner where 2 large dinner parties were very patient with our large crew of kids 😉 The following day, we ate at this killer Gluten-free pizza place and went to The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, which was PHENOMENAL!

Here’s my journaling, which I have hidden behind my photo strips. Oh, and an easy way to get all those Instagram pics onto a 1-page layout is to create an “contact sheet” (under printing options) of all your photos in your photo editing software. I use iPhoto and it’s easy peasy.

For the rest of the layout, you’ll see I designed a cool monochrome patterned paper with Belinda’s Borders for the negative space. Then, I used Chevron Backdrops to create a cool worn tread pattern in black ink to the left of “Portland”. I used my Sizzix eClips die-cutting machine to cut out the title using the font, Zag Bold. I finished the layout by splattering a wash of black Design Memory Craft gelato!

If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, my name is “iheartart”!

Thanks for visiting,
