Design Memory Craft & Ice Resin!

DMCIceResinTiff-1New Orleans, LA…NOLA

New Orleans is color, food, music, people, heart, & soul.

Hello Blogosphere! Welcome to the Ice Resin Faber-Castell Week! I am so excited to share details about my NOLA Pendant. NOLA stands for New Orleans, LA which is where I call home! It was my first time using Ice Resin & Iced Enamels…totally fell in love.

Instructions:

1. Trace the heart-shaped bezel on a book page, cut it out, and save the negative (top portion) to color.

2.Draw a New Orleans Skyline with a black PITT Pen (S) on a book page. Color the sky with Art Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils (107, 136, 166) and blend it with a wet brush. Heat Set. These watercolors are permanent once they’re dry :)

3. Adhere Skyline to Bezel with Gel Medium.

4. Apply Iced Enamels Medium to the bottom portion of the Heart-shaped Bezel using a paintbrush, making sure to avoid adding the Medium to the Skyline. Pour Iced Enamels Relique. Shake excess. Heat Set.

5. Add more Iced Enamels Medium on top using a paint brush, pour Iced Enamels Relique (German Silver), shake excess, and heat set. Repeat until you achieve desired results! I layered mine 4 times.

6. Add charms, embellishments, and letters to create a scene in your Heart-shaped Bezel.

7. Mix the Iced Enamels Resin Syringe per the instructions (I used half of the amount in the syringe & mixed it for a minute). Pour into Bezel. The air bubbles will release with time & warmth.

8. Allow project to dry for 6 hours. Allow to cure for 3 days.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Sorry for the lengthy instructions, but this stuff is SOOO cool! There are a TON of videos and tutorials out there (thank you web)!

This is too GORG!! I absolutely love it! You could totally sell these to tourists in the French quarter if you wanted! I love the great NOLA traditional color combo of bright purple, green and yellows and the fun piano keys and musical note and camera to commemorate a bit of what New Orleans is known for. How neat that you live there! I have always dreamt of going but live on the west coast my whole life-and in 2010 I got my chance! I spent 4 glorious days on my own in the business district a few blocks from the quarter. I took the St Charles st trolley to the Garden District and even toured a sugar plantation outside of the city one day. It was my best trip ever. This is such a lovely piece and thanks for sparking a fabulous memory for me today with it! 😀

Great to see all the products in your pendant and I love New Orleans also. Im from outside Shreveport in Benton, La. but use to work for property management company that’s home office is in New Orleans and travelled there quite a bit for supervisor meetings and annual managers meeting. We always had a blast. But back to the gorgeous purple and green and the black and gold pendant, love the stick pin and may arts ribbon all go perfect together with the gelatos and resin products.
